S7 Edge Intermittent Charging

Problem: So, this is going to sound somewhat strange but essentially what’s happening is when I put my phone on my charger it begins to charge then it stops charging, and from there it will begin to rapidly switch between charging and not charging. I have a feeling it may be because of the moisture in the air (it’s been very rainy where I am as of late and my windows have remained open for the past week or so.) I’ve tried a different charger in another part of the house and it began doing the same as my charger but then after a few seconds it’s began charging just fine. Any idea of what might be the issue, or if it is the moisture?

Solution: It’s possible that moisture can cause this issue however there are also other factors that could cause thi problem. First and foremost, if the phone intermittently charges then the charging cable should be checked first. This is because this cord gets easily damaged. Try using a different charging cord then see if this fixes the problem.

Dirt stuck in the phone’s charging port can also affect the way the device charges. Clean this port using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw.

There’s also a possibility that this issue is caused by a glitch in the phone software. If this is the case I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should have the phone checked at a service center.

S7 Edge Will Not Turn On

Problem: My phone was working fine last night. I plugged it in to charge and went to sleep. I woke up this morning and while my phone appears to be on (the light on the top left corner is flashing green) it won’t do anything. I tried both to reboot and power down the phone by using the little menu that pops up when you hold the volume and power key and it never actually turns off. When I select reboot phone normally the black samsung galaxy S7 Edge screen pops up and just stays there. forever. When I select power down the screen goes black, but the green light continues blinking. I tried selecting reboot in safe mode, and it has been displaying the black samsung galaxy S7 Edge screen for 20 minutes. Is finding a solution in my own a lost cause? Is it dead?

Related Problem: My samsung S7 Edge just shut off and then went into reboot loop but only goes as far as the logo screen.  The battery keeps draining when go to charge it it gets extremely hot.  I leaving to go out of the country in a few days and get this fixed

Solution: Try connecting your phone to its charger for at least 20 minutes then turn it on. If it doesn’t turn on then try starting the phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then I recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the issue then I suggest you have the phone checked at a service center.

S7 Edge Charger Plugged In Error

Problem: Problem started with the Power Sharing app installation notice.  I did not install the app but restarted the phone and the notifications stopped.  Now, every so often I hear the phone “charger plugged in” notification sound with the blue indication on the screen. That’s all, but it happens so often that it is getting very irritating.  Can this issue be resolved with software or is it a hardware issue?

Solution: This problem is usually caused by a hardware issue concerning the charging port. If you are getting the charger pluggedin notification even if no charger is connected then try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. Make sure to remove any dirt that could be present in this port. If the issue still occurs then try checking if a glitch in the phone software is causing this by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then have the phone checked at a service center.

S7 Edge Battery Drains Quickly

Problem: I was having a dramatic battery drain rapidly.  I cannot say if it was after an update or not.    I did the clear cache in safe mode and the battery life improved significantly.  Thus, it appears that maybe an application is to blame.  How do I isolate which one it is?

Solution: You will need to do a trial and error method to isolate the third party app. Uninstall one app then check if the issue still occurs. Repeat this until you get to an app where the issue doesn’t occur anymore. That app is causing the problem.
